The motorbike seems to be the preferred method to get around. In Hoi An it's possible to get tailor-made suit and dresses for a fraction of the cost. I met a girl from Montreal and we went to the dressmakers together after doing a bit of research to find a good one. Thery were very helpful and when you walked in...handed you the NEXT catalogue and told you to start looking through.
I made my choices and she took me across town with her to pick out the material. It was great..:) After a few alterations, my clothes fit great.
Hoi An had some great restaurant and Julie and tried a restaurant called Cafe des Amis. We tried a local speciality Fish Wonton...which arrived with fish, sauteed tomatoes, onions, green beans on top of a flat wonton...it was incredible. I wish I had a picture. We also visited a fair trade shop with artisans who have disabilities. They make all kinds of silk products and ceramics to sell. I found myself a little journal for the trip..
The beach in Hoi was lovely and a nice place to relax. I rode my bike out there a few times.
This is a photo off the beach in Hoi An the day after the quake...Fortunately for all here, there doesn't seem to be any affect.
